Kara is a NASM certified trainer and has been coaching since early 2022. Before coaching, she frequented group fitness classes for 10 years.She's loved the group dynamic since she stopped playing team sports because it feels like a "team workout". She named her dog, Barry, after one of the greatest running backs of all time. Fun fact: She has four older sisters and 10 nieces and nephews!
Hey y'all! I'm an acute care Doctor of Physical Therapy by day, Basecamp coach by night, and somewhere in there I fit in working towards my master's in public health practice! Since I joined Basecamp as a member, our studio has become my happy place and my love for Basecamp North Loop has only grown as I've joined the coaching team!
Let's get the weird stuff out of the way. I saw a UFO when I was in 5th grade and I'm borderline obsessed with dinosaurs. I think they should be on money instead of presidents. It feels good to get that off my chest. Fitness has been important to me for over 15 years and I've been coaching for five. There's something about the group dynamic that is fun and competitive.
Hi everyone! I'm Charliz Balicao, thrilled to be part of the Basecamp North Loop team. Originally from Blaine, MN most of my fitness background comes from being a dancer for 21 years. I danced at the University of St. Thomas and recently finished my third season as a professional cheerleader.
Hey Basecamp fam! I’m Kaitlyn, and I have been personal training and coaching for 5 years. I moved to Minneapolis 3 years ago for grad school at the U of M and found my home at Basecamp – our community is second to none. I am also a Registered Dietitian, and I love the balance that coaching gives me with the stressors of my day-to-day job. Outside of the gym you can find me traveling, hiking, hanging out with my dog Chip, or trying new restaurants. I can’t wait to see you in one of my classes!
Emily has been part of the North Loop community for four years, bringing her personal training expertise to the Basecamp team. As a certified kettlebell instructor and two-time rollerblade marathon finisher, she believes in staying consistent by finding joy in how you move your body. Her favorite muscle to train? Glutes! So, it’s no surprise that she’s a big fan of the ever-dreaded Bulgarian split squats.

Hi, I’m Hunter! Originally from Florida, I’ve lived in Minnesota since 2021. I’m a 23-year-old graduate student at the University of Minnesota studying Sport and Exercise Science, with a background in Sport Management and experience as an Exercise Physiologist. A former college sprinter and marathon runner, I’m passionate about fitness, Twins games, fishing, and spending time with my cat!
My name is Madi and I’m originally from California but I have been in the beautiful state of mn for about three years now. I currently attend hamline to get my BA in exercise science. I also play softball at Hamline and am apart of U of Ms rotc program and army national guard. I recently got accepted into UW Madison’s Athletic training masters program and I hope to pursue AT in professional sports in the future.
Coach Mykenna is passionate about teaching; whether it is spending her week days juggling 3rd graders or on the mic coaching Basecampers. With a yoga background you can sometimes catch a challenging yoga flow to finish her class.🧘♀️ Off duty she loves to try new restaurants and documents all of the food! Give her sunshine, a good book, a latte☕️, and a killer leg day workout and her day is complete! Mykenna can't wait to be your biggest cheerleader💪
